U.S. Viewers

Fox Sports and ESPN are two subscription-based broadcasters licensed to stream. Fox Soccer 2Go is a great option if you have a cable subscription.

You can also get your UEFA Europa League coverage via many streaming services that include Fox Sports or ESPN in their plans, such as SlingTV, FuboTV, Hulu Live TV, PlayStation Vue, or YouTube Live TV.

The next three seasons will be broadcast by UniMas (free), Turner Sports, and UDN (both paid).

UK Viewers

The UK fans are in a better position since BT Sport and ITV2 air the matches for free while BT Sport also offers premium coverage. NOW TV has an ample choice of affordable daily and weekly passes, which is convenient if you don’t want to get locked into a contract.

Worldwide

Sport1 (free) and Sky Deutschland (paid) have the rights to broadcast the UEFA Europa League matches in Germany while beIN Sport (paid) and M6 (free) are licensed in France.

In Australia, your only option is the paid beIN Sports while in Canada it’s TSN, RDS (in French), and beIN Sports again. In China, check your PPTV.

The easiest way to stream the UEFA Europa League live is via one of the official over-the-air broadcasters such as ITV because it’s free and in English. After all, not everyone has a premium subscription. But you need to be in the UK to enjoy the free coverage.

But even a paid subscription with SlingTV, ESPN, Fox, or BT Sport doesn’t guarantee unfettered access to your live coverage and on-demand streams because each provider is locked to a specific country.

Blame it on the broadcast rights, but you can pay for a year of BT Sport and still get locked out of your UEFA matches the moment you leave the UK. Thing is, your broadcaster recognizes your physical location from your Internet Protocol address (IP) and locks you out if you happen to be abroad.

To bypass sports streaming geo-blocks, you might want to resort to a VPN. A Virtual Private Network is a security tool – and a service – that lets you emulate your physical location in any country in the world. Although there may not be a provider that covers all countries, quite a few companies run VPN servers across all continents.

The good news is you don’t need VPN servers all over the world to stream the UEFA Europa League. You only need a VPN with servers in a few select countries, with the UK being the most convenient option to stream ITV.

To emulate your location in the UK, or spoof into the UK, you need to connect to a UK VPN server. The server grants you a UK-based IP address and voila – ITV is unblocked and you can stream the Europa League for free.

Likewise, if you have your paid Sling TV subscription but happen to be outside the U.S., you connect to a US-based VPN server, get a U.S. IP address, and access your SlingTV as you normally would from the U.S.

Also, a VPN encrypts your traffic, which offers additional benefits:

  • Privacy from the prying eyes of your Internet Service Provider.
  • Security from hackers setting up honeypots and Man-in-the-Middle attacks on open WiFi networks.
  • Freedom from the school-, office- or state-imposed firewalls and censorship wherever you are. You do know China is not the sole censor blocking its citizens from many parts of the Internet, don’t you? Users in many European countries also face significant restrictions when accessing YouTube or Netflix.
  • Full access to your geo-restricted subscription-based services irrespective of your location. If you are an expat, vacationer, or a digital nomad traveling the world, a VPN helps you take full advantage of your live streaming subscriptions. Also, you can easily bypass regional blackouts and ISP throttling with a VPN.
  1. Pick a VPN provider with servers in the country in which you want to spoof (check my list of suggestions below).
  2. Buy a subscription. Although there are many free VPNs, they can’t offer connection speeds and stable performance you need for live-streaming sports. Also, free VPNs log your browsing activity and personal data and sell it to third parties and spy agencies.
  3. Download and install a VPN program provided by your VPN company.
  4. Launch it and log in.
  5. Find the list of servers (or locations) and connect to a server in the country of your interest.
  6. Open a clean instance of your browser, with cache erased (otherwise, it might leak your real location).
  7. Go to your streaming website or launch the app and log in – you should be able to stream the UEFA Europa League now.

The above VPNs have ample server coverage in the UK, USA, and across Europe, streaming-optimized servers, as well as a proven track record of successfully bypassing streaming providers’ geo-blocks. Still, it might be a good idea to test the VPN of your choice for speeds, DNS leaks, and the ability to bypass geo-blocks before committing to a long-term subscription.
