Arrow is the show that will make you believe that a guy armed with a bow and arrow in the 21st century can be an effective crime fighter. The series that kicked off The CW’s “Arrowverse”, a shared universe in which other DC Comics heroes with their own television series on the network coexist and interact. Arrow revolves around billionaire playboy Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow, a vigilante that fights criminals in Star City with a peculiar choice of weapon. Think Batman crossed with Hawkeye from The Avengers.

Throughout the series, Oliver progresses as both a hero and a person, going from focusing on a specific list of criminals written out by his father to targeting all criminals in Star City and beyond, while also deciding that he will no longer kill the criminals he goes after. Arrow is delightfully pulpy, with a colorful cast of characters taken straight from the comics, and guest appearances by the Flash and other characters from various Arrowverse shows. If you are a comics fan and haven’t begun Arrow yet, you are really missing out.

Where to stream Arrow

Arrow is available to stream on Netflix. As of now, a Netflix membership costs $11 dollars a month for the most popular plan that allows subscribers to stream content on two devices, simultaneously, although the price is expected to rise to $13 a month, soon.

If you don’t have access to The CW network on television and don’t want to wait that long to watch season seven episodes, the five most recent episodes are streaming for free on The CW website.

Why use a VPN to watch Arrow

Netflix is available worldwide, except in China. Unfortunately, the library of available titles varies from country to country due to licensing restrictions. For example, in the UK, Arrow cannot be found on Netflix because Sky and Now TV has the rights in that country, and they only have season seven episodes available to stream, which helps none if you need to start from the beginning. What’s more, streaming the show on The CW Network website is limited to residents of the US.

Luckily, there’s a way you can stream Arrow on Netflix, no matter where you are. All you have to do is subscribe to a good VPN that works with Netflix. A VPN is a handy tool that routes your internet connection through one of many private servers located around the world. By doing this, it appears to outside observers as if you are connecting to the internet from the location of the server.

How does this apply to Netflix? Using a great VPN like ExpressVPN to connect to a US server before logging on to the service will unlock the US library of titles, which includes Arrow, as well as a host of other titles and films unavailable outside the states. This works no matter where you are.

In addition to allowing you to bypass regional restrictions on content, VPNs also come with great security features that will keep you safe from identity thieves, hackers, and other threats while using the internet.

How to stream Arrow from outside the US with a VPN

  1. Subscribe to a VPN with servers in the US that can unblock Netflix (ExpressVPN works great in this regard)
  2. Download and install the VPN app on every device you use to stream video and surf the web.
  3. Go here to sign up for Netflix if you don’t already have an account..
  4. Add the Netflix app to the devices you want to use to stream Arrow.
  5. Using the VPN app, connect to a US server on your digital media player, or any other device you use to stream Netflix titles.
  6. Once you are safely connected to a US server, log on to Netflix and the entire US library of titles, including Arrow, will be unlocked for your viewing pleasure. You can also stream the latest season seven episodes on The CW website for free without issue.
