UFC Fight Night 170 is part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and will take place on March 14, 2020, at the Ginasio Nilson Nelson in Brasilia, Brazil. Tickets are sold out and if you haven’t booked your flight and hotel by now, it is probably too late.

Fortunately, this showcase mixed martial arts fight event is going to be available live online. The headline bout is between Kevin Lee and Charles Oliveira however, the Fight Night includes a total of 12 fights. The welterweight match between Demien Maia and Gilbert Burns is the second biggest draw of the night.

Where to Stream UFC Fight Night 170

UFC has its own streaming service, called Fight Pass. However, beware. This service doesn’t include the actual fights live. The Fight Pass service includes the build-up to fights and then lets you watch fights two days after they have taken place.

The only way you can watch the fight live online is through ESPN+. If you access the UFC website and try to book a PPV ticket for fight night 170, you get redirected to the Fight Pass subscription page. This will not give you a live view of the match on March 14th. You will only get preliminaries on the 13th and reviews on the 15th included on the Fight Pass.

UFC has sold the live broadcasting rights to its Fight Night events to ESPN+. The ESPN+ service shows some UFC events as part of its subscription service and others are only available as pay-per-view. Fight Night 170 is not a pay-per-view event, so you will be able to see it on the schedule of your ESPN + subscription.

For those who just want to watch UFC PPV events, there is a catch. You can only buy a PPV ticket through ESPN+ if you are a subscriber. So, you need to pay $4.99 per month for the subscription and then pay a $64.99 PPV ticket price on top of that. However, remember that UFC Fight Night 170 is not a PPV event.

Why Use a VPN to UFC Fight Night 170

ESPN+ is only available in the United States. You can watch the service online at the ESPN.com website. However, that site scans all video requests and spots where they originated. If that location is within the United States, the video will play, if it is from outside of the USA, the video screen shows an error message.

A VPN relocates its customers. When starting up the VPN, the user first has to choose a location. Once the VPN is active, all requests from the user will appear to have originated from the chosen location. Thus, no matter where you really are, if you chose a VPN server in the USA to connect through, your access to the ESPN video player will be approved.

How to Stream UFC Fight Night 170 from Outside the US with a VPN

  • Subscribe to a VPN provider – pick one of the recommended services in the list below

  • Download and install the VPN client onto your chosen devices

  • Connect to a server inside the USA

  • Go to the ESPN website and log in.

  • Click on ESPN+ on the menu at the top of the screen.

  • Click on Watch Now from the drop-down menu.

VPNs for ESPN and ESPN+

US sports streaming services are a little tricky. Not only do they block viewers from outside the country, but they impose “blackouts” on different areas of the country for different sporting events. If you get an ESPN+ subscription to watch UFC Fight Night 170, you also have access to many other events. However, in some cases, viewers are not allowed to watch a sporting event live of one of the teams is from the city where they are located. Those location detection systems can work out where a viewer is right down to the street.

This means that for some sporting events, you need to specify exactly which city you want to appear to be in. Most VPNs just allow you to choose a country, but some give you options over the city as well.

Apart from location options, you need to be sure that the VPN you choose can get into ESPN. You also need a fast VPN service because many slow down your connection so it is too slow for live video streaming.

Rugby fans take note: the 2019 Rugby World Cup is already underway. Held every four years, this year’s tournament witnesses 20 teams from five continents battling it out for the Webb Ellis Cup (the trophy awarded to the winning team) in host country Tokyo.

While matches began September 20th, the tournament continues until November 2nd, so there’s still plenty of hard-hitting rugby action remaining to catch on TV.  The impressive New Zealand All Blacks, who won the past two Rugby World Cups in 2011 and 2015, are the early favorite to win it all again this year, but great teams like England and South Africa will pose serious competition.

Where to watch the 2019 Rugby World Cup

Owing to its status as the biggest international rugby event, the 2019 Rugby World Cup can be found on TV networks around the world. The following networks are where you can catch matches in their respective countries:

  • USA: NBC Sports
  • Canada: TSN
  • UK: ITV
  • Ireland: EIR Sports
  • Australia: Fox Sports, Network Ten
  • South Africa: SuperSport
  • New Zealand: Spark Sport
  • France: TF1
  • Germany: Ran
  • Japan: Nippon TV, NHK, J SPORTS

Why use a VPN to stream the 2019 Rugby World Cup

Despite the fact that the Cup is airing on networks across the world, you still might find yourself unable to catch the matches live. Many of the networks require expensive cable packages, and for American expats living abroad temporarily, a long term lock-in cable contract to watch a six-week long event just isn’t a viable option.

Luckily there’s a solution for Americans outside of their country who can’t find the Rugby World Cup on TV where they are, or would just prefer to view their home country’s coverage of the event. The free NBC Sports app is airing many of the matches and can be downloaded on Android, iOS, Samsung TVs, streaming devices and other platforms. Unfortunately, due to legal restrictions, the app can only be used within the United States. However, there’s a simple workaround and it requires using a VPN.

A VPN is a handy tool that routes your internet connection through one of many proxy servers around the world, making it seem as if you are connecting from that country and allowing you to use services exclusively available in that nation. By logging on to a US server through your VPN, you can stream Rugby World Cup matches on the NBC Sports app from anywhere in the world.

Step-by-step guide to streaming the Rugby World Cup with a VPN

  1. Subscribe to a good VPN with a wide selection of U.S. servers (Ivacy is offering 20% off all plans except their monthly plan with promo code RWC20).
  2. Download and install the VPN client on the device you stream sports on.
  3. Connect to a U.S. server on your chosen streaming device.
  4. Install the NBC Sports app.
  5. When match time comes, check that you are still connected to a US server via the VPN client on your chosen streaming device and enter the NBC Sports app.
  6. Enjoy 2019 Rugby World Cup matches from wherever you are in the world.

Supported devices

  • VPNs are compatible with just about any device able to connect to the internet, including iOS and Android phones/tablets, digital streaming devices, smart TVs, and video game consoles. Check each VPN’s list of supported devices to find one that supports your favorite platforms.
  • The NBC Sport App is available for iOS devices, Android devices through the Google Play app, laptops, digital streaming devices, ChromeCast, Xbox, and Samsung TVs. Scope the list here.

Categoría Primera A--also known as Liga Águila due to its sponsorship deal with the beer of the same name--should be near the top of any diehard football fan’s watchlist. The league is considered the third best in South America, and one of the strongest around the world. In an nation as football-crazed as Colombia, a lot is on the line.

Where to Stream Colombia Categoría Primera A Online

The 71st season of Categoría Primera A is currently underway, and with returning champions Millonarios currently seated in 9th place, it’s anyone’s game.

Domestically, Categoría Primera A is broadcast on two networks: two matches a round are shown on RCN Televisión, a broadcast network available to nearly everyone in the country, while eight matches each round are televised on Win Sports, a 24-hour sports channel available through most satellite and cable TV providers throughout Colombia.

Cord cutters are able to livestream Categoría Primera A matches on iOS and Android devices with the Win Sports Online app usable with a subscription to Win Sports Online for the price of $14.99 a month.

However, this service is only to those within Colombia; those outside of the country are geo blocked...unless you utilize a VPN to sidestep this pesky annoyance (stay tuned for more on that later!).

Primera A fans in the US  have lucked out with the recent debut of iGOL, a subscription streaming service with support for iOS, Android and multiple TV streaming platforms. For just $9.99 a month, users are able to live stream Primera A matches, as well as matches from a slew of the world’s best football leagues.

FuboTV ($19.99 for the first month, $44.99 a month thereafter) and beIN SPORTS CONNECT  ($18 a month) are also viable streaming options for US fans, however their prices aren’t really competitive with iGOL.

In the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia it can be much harder to find a streaming option for Colombia Categoría Primera A matches due to a focus on European and/or local football league coverage.

If you live in any of these places, your best bet is probably to use a VPN to anchor your internet connection to a US server in order to watch live Primera A matches through iGOL.

Why Use a VPN to Stream Liga Aguila Live

While US and Colombian football fans have it made in the shade with the wealth of streaming options available to them to watch Primera A matches, Colombian football enthusiasts on distant shores aren’t so lucky.

It isn’t as easy as signing up for iGOL from a remote location, as use of the service is restricted to those within US borders. Instead, people in this category must first obtain a VPN (virtual private network), a handy tool that will make it SEEM to streaming services (and everyone else) that you are surfing from a US-based connection (or whichever country you choose, based on the servers the provider has available).

As long as you have access to the internet, this solution will work anywhere on the globe.

How to Use a VPN to Stream Colombia Categoría Primera A

  • Subscribe to a VPN service (providers usually offer a considerable discount if you pay for a year in advance)
  • Install the VPN client on your chosen streaming device.
  • Using the client, connect to a server in the US (luckily, VPN providers typically have dozens of US based servers to choose from)
  • Clear your browser’s cache.
  • Go to iGOL.tv and register an account.
  • Watch Colombia Categoría Primera A football to your heart’s content from anywhere in the world.

Of the myriad athletic competitions held each year across the world, the Crossfit Games separate themselves from the pack with one unique rule: the athletes do not know the exact nature of the events they’ll be participating in until days or even hours prior to their start. This makes the Crossfit Games a delight for fans and participants, alike.

Where to Watch the Crossfit Games on TV

CBS Sports is the U.S. broadcast partner of the Crossfit Games. On television, coverage will be divided between regular old CBS and CBS Sports Network, available through most cable and satellite providers, as well as Hulu and Youtube TV.

Where to Stream the Crossfit Games Online in the U.S.

Those that have sworn off traditional means of watching television are in luck, as end-to-end coverage of every event of the Crossfit Games Championships will be streamed live online at CBSSports.com and the official Crossfit Games webpage.

In 2017, start-to-finish coverage of all of the events was also streamed live on the Crossfit Games Facebook page. Due to the success of this venture, more games will be streamed on the site, as well.

Sports fans that prefer to catch the games on-the-go can also find equally comprehensive coverage of the competition on the CBS Sports app available for Android and iOS (and Roku, Apple TV, etc). The app allows you to stream CBS Sports events live, play fantasy sports, and check up-to-date scores and standings of every sport.

How to Stream the Crossfit Games from Around the World

A list of overseas television broadcast partners for the Championships has yet to be released, however you can check this extensive 2019 list of networks by country on the official Crossfit Games website for a hint on which network will be airing events on tv in your country.

Luckily for cord cutters around the world, the official Crossfit Games website and Facebook online streams are to be made available across the globe.

Why Use a VPN to Stream the Crossfit Games

While the official Crossfit and Facebook streams are supposedly accessible to fans around the world--in theory--the reality can be much different, depending on where you live.

Streaming on CBS Sports is geoblocked in certain countries, so for many it isn’t an option.

As far as Facebook goes, many fans across the globe have trouble streaming video from the website, finding it spotty and prone to glitches and freezing. Additionally, the site is completely blocked in China and Iran, while other countries partially restrict access.

Further still, bandwidth throttling by an internet service provider can affect everybody’s streaming speed, limiting your ability to live stream coverage of the Crossfit Games, or render you unable to view it, entirely.

To bypass this problem, or for those in Iran or China hoping to view the events on facebook, the solution is to acquire a VPN (virtual private network).

A VPN allows you to:

  • Shield your web browsing, gaming and streaming from your ISP, inhibiting their ability to throttle your bandwidth.
  • Circumvent censoring and blocking of websites, whether the blocking is being done by the government, your place of employment, your school, or otherwise.
  • Log on to public WiFi networks without the fear of your private information and data being hacked due to advanced data encryption.

How to Use a VPN to Stream the Crossfit Games

  • Purchase a subscription from a reliable VPN provider.
  • Download and install their client on your computer, tablet, or mobile device.
  • Connect to a server (If you are in Iran or China, and wish to unblock Facebook, choose any out-of-country server. If you need to bypass a work/school firewall or avoid bandwidth throttling, any server will do.)
  • Clear your browser’s cache.
  • Head over to the Crossfit Games website or their Facebook page, and stream the events live without issue

The Chilean Primera Division is the country’s top professional football league that ranks 14th in the world. Currently dubbed as Campeonato Nacional Scotiabank 2019, its 89th edition sees Universidad Catolica fighting for their title. It’s going to be a bloodbath, as Colo-Colo, Universidad de Chile, and Universidad de Concepcion are powerful rivals.

Where to Stream the Chilean Primera División Online

In Chile, CDF and La Red hold the exclusive broadcast right to the Chilean Primera Division. Canal de Futbol airs seven matches per matchday live on CDF Premium signal and CDF Basic signal simulcasting via CDF Basico. La Red is available through analog and cable channels and as a streaming platform lared.cl.

TV Chile shows two matches per week. It’s also available in the US on DirecTV Now on channel 437 and with such cable providers as Adelphia, Cable One, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Comcast, Cox Communications, NCTC, RCN, and Verizon FiOS TV.

In Canada, TV Chile is broadcast on Bell Canada and Videoton in Quebec and Rogers Cable in Ontario and New Brunswick.

You can also find TV Chile through Luso Vision in Australia and New Zealand, Viasat and ONO in Europe, and throughout Latin America.

Fanatiz is another subscription-based streaming option available internationally, but its live streams of the Chilean Primera Division are blacked out on a per-game basis if some local broadcaster airs the game.

If nothing else helps, check out Bet365. All you need is a deposited account to stream the Chilean Primera Division, but just like with Fanatiz, blackouts apply.

Screenshot: Fanatiz

Why Use a VPN to Stream the Chilean Primera División

If you are a Chilean traveling abroad for work or tourism, or a digital nomad always on the move, you may find yourself locked out of your premium content, including the Chilean Primera Division and your favorite shows. Both CDF and La Red are licensed to show Primera Division only in Chile. Although TV Chile can be found in many countries, its Primera Division coverage is far from what you’d call comprehensive.

If you pay for a premium membership back at home, you face the need of subscribing to Fanatiz or Bet365 abroad. And again, if some local cable provider shows a match, Fanatiz is not allowed to stream it.

I have a better solution – a VPN. A Virtual Private Network is a web of servers across the world. When you connect to a VPN server in Chile, you get a Chilean IP address. On top of that, all your traffic is routed through the Chilean server.

As a result, your Chilean streaming provider, be it CDF, TV Chile or La Red, identify you as a regular customer connecting from Chile. Problem solved – no more geo-blocks no matter where you are in the world. And you don’t need to buy another subscription in your current location.

Top that off with a VPN’s robust encryption, and you get a military-grade security product that enables you to:

  • Bypass your Internet Service Provider’s throttling and snooping
  • Protect your data from hackers on public WiFi and Man-in-the-Middle attacks
  • Access geo-restricted streaming and gaming sites
  • Get region-restricted deals and discounts when shopping online
  • Conceal your real location and identity
  • Bypass your school, office or state firewalls and mass surveillance

How to Stream the Chilean Primera División with a VPN

  • Subscribe to a VPN service and install the VPN program on your device.
  • Launch your VPN client and connect to a server in Chile.
  • It makes sense to clear your browser’s cache and cookies to avoid leaking your real location.
  • Launch a fresh instance of your browser and go to your streaming provider’s portal.
  • You are all set to stream the Chilean Primera Division from anywhere in the world.
