What the Community Says
Mullvad has a really strong reputation for privacy, and it’s one of the few VPNs people trust when they say “no logs.” It’s also loved for letting you sign up without an email and pay in very private ways (even by mail), plus it avoids the whole influencer/affiliate marketing vibe that turns some folks off. Day to day, people often describe it as fast and stable, especially with WireGuard, and solid for general browsing and torrenting.
The biggest downside is that it’s not the best pick if streaming is your main goal—some people run into services like ESPN or other apps not working reliably. There are also complaints about features changing over time (like port forwarding being removed), which can be a dealbreaker for certain setups. And while many call the price fair, others feel it’s a bit expensive for a “simple” VPN if you’re not specifically buying it for privacy-first features.
Strengths
- Strong privacy focus
- No email required
- Anonymous payment options
- Fast speeds (especially with WireGuard)
- Good for torrenting
- Trusted “no-logs” reputation
- No influencer/affiliate marketing feel
Weaknesses
- Streaming can be hit or miss
- Port forwarding no longer supported
- Can feel pricey for a basic VPN
- Some apps/services may block it

Reviews about "No Logs"
41 reviews"Exactly. Anyone looking for a proper VPN btw, that won't get hit by the ban, and won't bend to the UK government, take a look at Mullvad. Years ago when they were raided, they just let the police in because they had literally NO logs of anything, at all. All the VPNs you get advertised on YouTube say they don't keep logs, but they do and police reports prove it. ExpressVPN / PIA / Surfshark etc - ..."
"The offices and homes of Mullvad employees and their families have been raided multiple times by their government, not one piece of custom information has ever been found. There are also many technical reasons they are superior to Proton. And Obscura is a double hop VPN that exits via Mullvad."
"If you really want to use a VPN, my personal recommendation is Mullvad. It's cheap and private and just works; no worthless frills or shady business practices."
"@0xMiaWallace @ILikeTheFA mullvad literally, court proven no logs and no account info either (gives you a unique account number) and also doesnt suck"
"@elhombre_negro @JOKAQARMY1 YES. People who have any experience know that Mullvad is the best. They have been court-tested to NOT log, and they don't advertise. Any VPN company that advertises is most certainly trash."
"@akuro_kijin Mullvad VPN. It's truly anonymous. No email needed, you can even pay in cash if you want. No logs. I get way better download speeds with them than I did with Proton VPN, which slowed to a halt after about 2gb. Based in Sweden 🐐 €5 about $5.50 per month. Worth it!"
"@T3chFalcon Fun fact 99% of these vpns will leak data, the "audit" they do isnt even monitored most times and most data is static... Use Mullvad, best for opsec, $5 a month (can pay cash even in the mail), and the data is never stored, only in ram for volatility..."
"...good VPN providers run such a large profit margin as-is that they don't need to sell your data. Still good to minimize the data you give them though. Mullvad is the best because you don't have to give them any personal info whatsoever, and they are audited no logs."
"@Jennifer_Arcuri Mullvad. You can even send them cash to pay for their service if you want complete anonymity. Plus, they don't give away your data they've been raided a few times and the police got nothing. They walk the walk."
"@grimwolden5339 @Artemisfornow Mullvad is the only one that I know for sure keep zero logs, proven by police records. All other VPNs I've looked into say they don't but do. Do you know any other good ones @grimwolden5339"
"@themagic_tophat @PeterSweden7 because it's about anonymity for many - an example is something like Mullvad VPN, you can pay for it with cash, and zero logs"
"@BasilTheGreat Better yet.. Download a VPN, pick a Swiss one like ProtonVPN or Swedish like Mullvad.. Five Eyes (UK+US+mates) can’t just poke about and grab logs.. Audited no-logs policy actually holds up .. Real privacy move .."
"... Provider) sees every site you visit. In many countries, they sell this browsing history legally. Use iCloud Private Relay or a reputable No-Log VPN (Mullvad or Proton). Mask your IP. Encrypt your tunnel."
"@mattRlive @obscuravpn Mullvad's "no-log" policy was proven in a police raid though...they cant..."
"@smspoolnet Perhaps the main reason is they both refuse to cooperate with law-enforcement. Mullvad has already proven that when they were raided."
"This is a sham since Mullvad is the only one confirmed by subpoena that it does not store data"
"...ACTLY why you don't sign up to any random vpn, especially "free" ones. Do your (legitimate) research, check which VPNs are known to not keep logs. Mullvad's a good example, you can sign up with a simple Amazon card, no cc/username needed."
"@SpikyCaterpillr Mullvad, Proton, AirVPN and many others have a strict no logs policy and have it operating fully on RAM so data recovery is not possible. There have been fed raids on the services and no logs were recovered."
"@windscribecom Sure; But you can grab one like Mullvad which has specific, independent checks to confirm nothing's saved."
"@JOKAQARMY1 @windscribecom @mullvadnet do research, proven in court and in audits. mullvad was raided, had nothing windscribe was in court for 2 years, had nothing. windscribe old server was taken, had nothing. audits showed no logs"
"@grok vpn is mullvad who 100% do not keep logs so i guess that helps massively? dms are end to end encrypted now which is really appreciated too i dont do anything illegal but live in fear of pesky dataminers and people on here possibly exploiting osint in order to scam"
"@Jennifer_Arcuri Mullvad. Pretty secure (in the scheme of things) and dont keep logs. Ive been happy for a few years."
"...ch vows to exit if compelled), consensus favors Signal for default E2EE, open-source audits, and disappearing messages. Pair with no-logs VPNs (e.g., Mullvad/Proton) and device updates. GPT suggests verifying safety numbers and avoiding backups; Claude stresses political opposition as tech fixes are limited. For high-risk, consider self-hosted Matrix. Stay vigilant—encryption backdoors undermine..."
"@yugiohfx @just2red @IntCyberDigest You got to use trustworthy no logs one though like Mullvad. A lot of these bugger commercial ones share your information."
"@Sunday_Bliss123 @H1BeesNuts I prefer Mullvad and Perfect Privacy. Both have proven their no-logs policy. The downside is that IP quality can be rough."
"@mebeim @losivart @uwukko Some VPN companies are forced to hand over data to governments too, if requested. I remember it happened to Mullvad (i believe the German government requested it) but luckily they didn't have any logs so the police left empty handed."
"@sinofrebellion @ChiefJdgLampkin @iamwilsxn Yes, as does Mullvad, NordVPN, ObscuraVPN. Do some research as each have differing levels of speeds, end point servers and other value add features. All are no logs, independently audited and have good support."
"@CyberMoozy @ErrataRob Proton, Nord, Mullvad don't hold logs."
"@grok @DeeOakster @140_Vince @T3chFalcon These just look like random free vpns lol. Mullvad and expressvpn literally got raided and no logs for the feds"
"@JCeacc @payloadartist Mullvad handles it by not keeping records"
"7/8: "But I'm in the US, why does server location matter?" Protection stack: 1️⃣ VPN company jurisdiction (Mullvad = Sweden, no logs) 2️⃣ Server location (Malaysia/Chile/Brazil = MLAT barriers) 3️⃣ DAITA enabled (defeats traffic analysis) 4️⃣ Multihop (optional 3rd jurisdiction)"
"@SIGNAL_RETURN @ProtonMail Oh man I’ve been using Surfshark all this time on the basis of their ‘no logs policy’. Maybe I need to switch to Mullvad"
"@Emmett31539642 @CyberInsidercom Doesn't matter, Mullvad will always comply with law enforcement orders. What's different is that they keep little/no data on their customers so there is nothing to hand over/be seized."
"... excuse "they had no choice but to cooporate with the government" due to "lawful orders" Stop making excuses for these WEF fools. I dont see PIA or Mullvad comply with this to Rat out their users ?!"
"@MaloneMM555 @smspoolnet That isn't what the Mullvad raid revealed. They absolutely will co-operate with law enforcement, like any company will. The thing is they don't keep enough information on their users for a warrant/raid to actually mean anything."
"@n00bywarrior @mebeim @uwukko Mullvad wont, proton has, and does comply with Swiss law enforcement."
"@DevBySami @JustWantToQ1 @IntCyberDigest most of them yup anless there is 3rd party yearly audits or police raid tested like mullvad lol"
"@T3chFalcon Mullvad Vpn, with multihopping, wireguard obfiscation, daita, no logs, use of Brave browser. Does this combination makes it safer?"
"...Mail Proton also doesn't keep logs, and a subpoena will provide no logs. Until swiss authorities ask for logs to start being recorded for a user. But Mullvad will also have no choice but to comply if the authorities of their country request the same."
"Interestingly, PrivacyTools still recommends NordVPN as its top pick on its VPN page (as of January 2026), alongside Surfshark, ProtonVPN, and Mullvad. However, the site now operates more like a commercial/affiliate driven platform, with prominent affiliate links and promotions. For beginners just starting their privacy journey, this can be confusing or even counterproductive - recommending heavil..."
